DE VACACIONES

Después de un mes sin escribir (he de pedir perdón por ello) debido a los exámenes, hoy lo vuelvo a hacer. Y para ello, ofrezco un look muy veraniego pero sin dejar atrás el estilo.

After a month without writing (I have to say sorry for that) because of my exams, today I do it again. I offer then, a very summer look with a lot of style.

Tiendas low cost en NY/ Low cost shops in NY

ESPAÑOL:

En estos tiempos de crisis que corren, qué mejor que hacer un post sobre esas tiendas baratas pero que tienen tanto encanto y en las que encuentras cosas ideales.

Pensé que las de aquí de España ya las conoce todo el mundo: Zara, H&M, Stradivarius, Mango etc... así que he seleccionado 4 tiendas de este tipo, las cuales amé y sigo amando, cuando estuve en NY este verano. 

¿Quién dijo que vestir bien significa gastarse millones?

En primer lugar, mi favorita, Forever 21, que podéis encontrarla en la calle 34 justo antes de llegar al Empire State y en el SoHo. Hay más tiendas seguro, pero estas dos fueron las que más me gustaron y las más grandes.

On this times of economical crisis, the best idea is to make a post about  that low cost shops with so much style and where you can find amazing things.

I thought that here in Spain, everybody knows what are that shops: Zara, H&M, Stradivarius, Mango... so I have choosen 4 low cost shops I loved and I love when I was in NY this summer

Who said that be trendy means expend millions?

First, my favourite one, Forever 21, you can find it on 34st just before arriving to the Empire State Building and in SoHo. There are more shops, of course, but this 2 were which I most liked and the biggest ones. 

ESPAÑOL:

Esta tienda tiene un estilo jóven y chic, algo así como zara pero americanizado. Eso sí, tener cuidado con la sección de vestidos de fiesta: ni la piséis porque son bastante horrorosos. A Forever 21 se va a buscar ropa de día, algún que otro zapato y algún que otro complemento. 

ENGLISH:

This shop has a young and chic style, more or less than Zara but american. But, be careful with the party dresses section: don't go there because they are a little bit horrible. If you go to Forever 21 you must go to look for day clothes, some shoes and some complements.

ESPAÑOL:

Siguiendo por la calle 34, encontramos Old Navy y American Eagle. Tiendas de estilo sport-chic y muy muy americano acercándose a Tommy Hilfiguer pero en su forma más juvenil. Si alguna vez habéis visto la seria de la MTV The Hills, comprenderéis de qué hablo, pues todos los actores parece que no vistan en otra tienda. Es ese estilo que usa uno cuando está en la playa en invierno: boyfriend jeans con algún roto y remangados, camisetas blancas de manga corta, chanclas de dedo o converse bajitas etc...

¡Para chico me encanta este estilo!

ENGLISH:

If you continue down the 34st, you can find Old Navy and American Eagle. Shops with a sport-chic style and very very american close to Tommy Hilfiguer but more youth. Have you seen the MTV serie The Hills?, If you have done it, you can know what I'm talking about, because every actor look like if they dont go to another shop. It's that style you wear when you are on the beach at winter: boyfriend jeans, white t-shirts, flip-flops or converse...

I love this outfil for boys!

Y por último, Abercrombie, algo más cara pero que no deja de ser una imprescindible en la ruta low cost. Situada en la quinta avenida, antes de llegar a Central Park. El estilo sport-chic por excelencia.

ENGLISH:

Finally, Abercrombie, a little bit more expensive but essential on the low cost route. Situated on the 5th avenue, before arriving to Central Park. The icon of the sport-chic outfit.

  

El secreto de Abercronmbie/Abercrombie`s secret

ESPAÑOL:
¿Qué tiene Abercrombie?, ¿Qué es lo que esconde que lo hace tan deseable?, ¿Por qué entrar en sus tiendas supone sentirse bien?. Hay un algo en la atmósfera que te hace desear cada vaquero, cada camiseta, cada sudadera...


ENGLISH:
What has Abercrombie?, What does it hides that makes it so desirable?, Why enter to the shops makes u feel better?. There's something in the atmosphere that makes u widh every jean, every T-shirt, every sweatshirt...

ESPAÑOL:

La primera vez que oi hablar de Abercrombie fue cuando estaba en Inglaterra estudiando Inglés como cualquier verano. Hicimos una excursión a Londres y un amigo dijo que había descubierto donde estaba la tienda y allí fuimos. Subiendo por Regent ST, y luego girando en una de las callecitas a la izquierda encontramos una gran casa, que parecía típica Inglesa y en seguida nos llegó un olor embriagador. Y ahí empezó el histerismo, la emoción inmensa cada vez que entraba allí

Quizá es porque dentro pareces estar en una discoteca, por la música y porque siempre está lleno. Porque el olor Abrecrombie es inconfundible, porque está lleno de dependientes-modelos que te alegran la vista y porque la ropa está expuesta como si de una obra de arte se tratase.

ENGLISH:

The first time I heared about Abercrombie was in England when I was there learning english as every summer. We went to London one day and a friend said he found where the shop was so we went there. Walking in Regent ST and turning left in one of the small streets we found a big house, a typical English one, and suddenly we smelt the caracteristic smell. There started the hysteria, the big emotion every time I entered there.

Maybe it's because inside u look like been in a disco, because of the music or maybe because there's always crawded. Because Abercrombie smell is unmistakable, because there are many shop assistants-models who make ur sight better and because the clothes look like an artwork.

ESPAÑOL:

Ahora que estudio publicidad me doy cuenta de muchas cosas y creo que mi trabajo de fin de carrera va a ser sobre la forma de hacer publicidad de Abercrombie, porque realmente es para darles un premio.

Son una marca que podría igualar a zara en calidad y sin embargo han hecho de ella algo exclusivo y deseable por todo el mundo, empezando por el hecho de que sólo se vende en países anglosajones. De esta forma, los turistas convierten la tienda de Abercrombie de la ciudad que están visitando en otro monumento más que visitar.

El olor, han hecho de la colonia Fierce para hombre un símbolo de sensualidad que se relaciona con la marca. Cualquier chica se muere cada vez que la huele y cualquier chico desea tenerla por este factor. Recuerdo este verano en Nueva York cuando andaba con mi amiga alemana por la quinta avenida buscando la tienda cuando pasamos el cruce de la quinta con la 57 y su olor característico nos empezaba a llegar, ya no había duda de que estábamos cerca y 5 minutos después allí estábamos. ¿Será que también perfuman las calles?

ENGLISH:

Now I'm studing advertising I notice to many things and I think that my final degree work is gonna be about Abercrombie's advertising, because they deserve an award.

They are a brand similar as zara's quality but they have done it something exclusive and desirable for everyone, maybe because they only sail on anglosaxon countries. On this way, tourist convert the Abercrombie shop of the city they are in, on another monument to visit.

The smell of fierce perfume for men has made it an icon of sensuality in relation with the brand. Every girl dies when they smell it and every boy want to have it because of this fact. I remember this summer in NY, when I was walking down the 5th avenue with my german friend looking for the shop and suddenly, when we cross the 57st we started smelling it, there was no doubt about we were very near. ¿Do they perfume the streets also?.

ESPAÑOL:

Y luego ya dentro de la tienda está toda la parafernalia, la ropa colocada perfectamente, la música más de moda a todo volumen, los probadores de madera y con llaves, el trato al cliente es fenomenal y ya, el que pongan a un modelo en la entrada para hacerte fotos con él es el colofón.

Han creado estilo. Cuando quieres definir un estilo sport pero chic, dices que es estilo Abercrombie y cuando ves a alguien con algo de Abercrombie ya piensas que viste fenomenal.

¿Hasta cuándo durará su misterio?

ENGLISH:

And then, inside the shop there is the rest os the show. Clothes perfectly placed, the most trendy music very loud, wood fitting rooms with keys, shop assistants treat you very well and the fact of the model situated in the entrance of the shop for take a picture with him...

They have created an style. When you want to define a sport and chic style, you say it's Abercrombie style and when you see someone wearing something by Abercrombie you think that person is very stylish.

¿How many time it is gonna conservate the mystery?

Después de 6 temporadas y una película, La serie Sexo en Nueva York sigue siendo recordada como una pasarela junto con una historia que contar.

Durante años, todas nos hemos mirado en Carrie, Miranda, Charlottle y Samantha y hemos copiado sus tendencias pero sin duda la actriz que da vida a Carrie, Sarah Jessica Parker, se ha convertido ya en un gran icono de la moda.

¿Quién no recuerda el último capítulo de la cuarta temporada, I heart NY, cuando Mr. Big se va a vivir a Napa y Miranda tiene a su hijo? pues precisamente en este capítulo Carrie se enamora de unos zapatos de Louboutin al igual que nosotras cuando los vimos:

After 6 seasons and a film, the TV serie Sex in the city stills been remembered like a fashion show with a story to tell.

During years all of us have looked to Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha's style and have copied it but, without a doubt, the actress who gives live to Carrie, Sarah Jessica Parker, has become a big fashion icon.

Who doesn't remember the last episode of the 4th season, I heart NY, when Mr. Big goes to live to Napa and Miranda has a son?. Exacly in these chapter Carrie felt in love with a sandals by Louboutin as we do when we saw them:

Dos it que han marcado tendencia gracias a Carrie son las sandalias abotinadas y los zapatos de caballero con tacón, ambos se han puesto de moda últimamente.

Two it that are trendy because of Carrie are the booties sandals and the men's shoes with high hills.

¿Cómo convinarlos?
Las sandalias abotinadas con vestido corto o por las rodillas sin duda para que estilicen las piernas y la figura. También con pantalones cortos de tiro alto o faldas de este estilo también. Prohibido con pantalones largos o vestidos largos.
Los zapatos tipo caballero me encantan como los convina en la foto Sarah Jessica. Sin embargo este tipo de zapatos dan más juego y más combinaciones: con pantalones largos y cortos, faldas cortas, vestidos, vaqueros etc... pero siempre que se lleven con pantalon estos deben ser pitillo para que se vean.
Si se le quiere dar un aire más sport para el día a día, los zapatos de caballero sin tacón son la mejor opción, así se combina estilo con comodidad.

How you can fix it with the resto of the clothes?
Booties sandals with short dresses for look thin also with high waistline shorts or skirst of this style. Forbbiden with trousers or long dresses.
I love how Sarah Jessica is wearing thw Men's shoes on the picture. Also this kind of shoes fit with everything: trousers, shorst, skirts, dresses, jeans... but if you wear it with trousers they have to be skinny ones for show the world this beautiful shoes.
If you want to have a more sport style, use the men's shoes without high hills, they are the best option if you want to be trendy and be confortable.

Devota& Lomba Cibeles Novias Madrid/Wedding Cibeles Madrid

ESPAÑOL:

De la mano de Sara Navarro, diseñadora de zapatos y bolsos alicantina a la que anteriormente entrevisté para el periódico de la universidad, descubrí los entresijos de la moda en el periodismo durante una tarde en la pasarela de Cibeles Novias de Madrid.

Antes de la llegada a IFEMA, acompañé a Sara a visitar su gabinete de prensa pues hoy 23 de Abril era el open day de su colección otoño/invierno del próximo año. Un show room es el lugar donde las marcas exponen sus modelos, sin estar a la venta, pues son una simple muestra de la próxima temporada, en primicia, para las revistas de moda más importantes, ya que trabajan con 3 meses de antelación. Junto a los nuevos zapatos y bolsos, observé la nueva colección, y la primera, de gafas y joyas de Sara Navarro y la presentación de la nueva y sorprendente marca The 2nd skin entre otros.

Por fin llegamos al recinto ferial y a la sala donde se iba a desarrollar el desfile de Devota&Lomba. Allí conocí a grandes personalidades del mundo del periodismo en la moda como la gran Josefina Figueras y el maestro de la moda Pedro Mansilla, así como a la encargada de las relaciones públicas y la jefa de prensade IFEMA, Nuria de Miguel, que estudió en nuestra universidad.

Entonces el desfile comenzó. Modesto Lafuente, el diseñador de la marca, no dejó indiferente a nadie. Grandes faldas y cuerpos ajustados se convinaron con el color nude como protagonista, volantes que empiezan desde la espalda y acaban en grades colas y también presentes en faldas. Muy elegante y muy sencillo pero también hubo algunos vestidos que parecían hechos de papiroflexia, de papel, muy típicos de Devota y Lomba que produjeron los aplausos del público

Tras el desfile acudimos al kiss room, lugar donde los invitados del diseñador aprovechan para darle la enhorabuena.

With Sara Navarro, shoes and bags Spanish designer who I interviewed 3 months ago for my university newspaper, I discovered a little bit more the fashion journalism world during an afternoon on Wedding Cibeles Madrid.

Before we arrived to the place where the show was, IFEMA, I went with Sara to her show room, because today 23rd of April, was her open day of the fall/winter 2010 collection. This is the place where brands show their models, but not for sail, because they are just models of the next collection for the most important fashion magazines, because they work with 3 months in advance and they need to be the first who know what's gonna be in the next season. Between the new shoes and bags, I discovered the first and a wonderful jewelwry and sunglasses collection by Sara Navarro and also the presentation of a new brand I really liked so much: The 2nd Skin.

We finally arrived to IFEMA and to the place where Devota&Lomba show was gonna be. There I met a few of important people in this fashion journalism world as Josefina Figueras and Pedro Mansilla and also the public relations and the press boss of IFEMA, Nuria de Miguel, who studied in my university.

And then the fashion show started. Modesto Lafuente, the designer of the brand, made his job as the best. Big skirts and tight bodies convinated with the nude colour as the star one. Flounces which starts from the back and draw a beauriful train and also on the skirts. Very smart and very simply but there were also a few dresses which look like origami, peper made, typical of Devota&Lomba. Those dresses made the public to start clapping.

After the show, we went to the kissing room where the the designer's guests give him congratulations

Vuelta a la vida real/Back to the Real life

ESPAÑOL:

Primero creo que he de presentarme:

Me llamo Sofía, tengo 19 años recién cumplidos y estudio publicidad y periodismo en el CEU de Madrid, España.  

Mi sueño siempre ha sido dedicarme a la moda desde un ámbito u otro, primero pensé en ser diseñadora pero tristemente dibujo bastante mal así que pensé en otra cosa que también estuviera relacionada y aquí estoy, estudiando dos carreras para, en un futuro, trabajar en lo que a mí más me gusta.

Por algo se debe empezar así que me metí en el periódico de la universidad y escribo sobre todo en la sección de moda pero también en algo de espectáculos y música. Tengo otro blog donde público estos artículos pero que tengo que remodelar y actualizar así que cuando esté listo no dudaré en poner la dirección.

Acaba de terminar la semana santa y con ella el look veraniego que todos llevamos en las playas a las que fuimos. Y me da pena, ha sido llegar a Madrid y volver a enfundarse en el abrigo y los pantalones largos. ¿No consideráis que es más difícil vestir chic cuando es invierno?, en verano en cambio, puedes llevar un vestido blanco, un sombrero panama, unas sandalias azul marino y el bolso a juego, sin olvidar las wayfarer, e ir tan fenomenal.

First I think I have to present myself:

I'm Sofia I'm 19 and i'm studing journalism&advertising in CEU university of Madrid, Spain. My dream always has been dedicate my work to fashion. First I thought to be a designer but, unfortunately I dont draw very well so I thought about another diferent thing but in relation to fashion. So here I am studing two degrees for, in a future, work in the thing I like most.

If u want something, you have to start with something so I joined the university newspaper and i'm writing on the fashion section and also in music one. I have another blog where I post these articles but I have to remodelate and refresh it so then I will put the website here of course if you want to see it.

The easter is over and with it the summer look which we always wear on the beach. And I'm not happy about it, I have arrived to Madrid and there's a bad weather again. We have returned to the trench and the troursers. Don't you think it's easier to look great in a summer outfit?. In summer time you can wear a white dress, a panama hat, a dark blue flip-flops and a big bag acoording to them, not forget the wayfarer, and look so great!.
